Cassano has confirmed that he has requested that Sampdoria terminate his contract, after the club removed his picture from the official website, and denied him the opportunity to train with the first team when he refused a transfer in the summer.

Options for the former Azzurri striker have been limited so far, so it remains to be seen whether the interest from Fiorentina is genuine.
