Unexpected turn of events in the transfer saga of Sofyan Amrabat, as Fiorentina are reportedly in pole position to sign the Hellas Verona midfielder.

The Moroccan midfielder has been linked with a move to Napoli during the last few months and had revealed a deal "was almost complete with" the Partenopei.

It was believed his agents has been able to sort out a future move to Naples with the Azzurri President Aurelio De Laurentiis, but now Fiorentina are allegedly overtaking the competition in the race for the former Club Brugge player.

Inter have also been linked with the player, who can't move until June after starting the season in Belgium and has already appeared for two clubs this term, and Gianluca Di Marzio writes that Amrabat’s representatives have met with the Nerazzurri.

The report claims the player seems convinced by the offer from Viola chief Rocco Commisso and if the player will agree with the club from Florence, Fiorentina will have to match Napoli’s already accepted offer of €18m.
