The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Viola coach has requested sporting director Daniele Prade to contact Inter about Politano’s situation at San Siro.

After replacing Vincenzo Montella in charge of the club placed 15th in Serie A, the 55-year-old has allegedly already started planning for a busy January.

The newspaper claims he wants to be reunited with the 26-year-old in Florence, as Iachini really made the player flourish at Sassuolo during his spell in charge of the Neroverdi.

During the 2017-18 season, Politano scored 10 goals in 36 league games, but after starting 31 times at Inter last season, he has only been in the line-up twice during Antonio Conte’s reign this term.

Dennis Praet is another name who is mentioned to be tracked by Iachini and the former Sampdoria midfielder is currently struggling to break through at Leicester City in the Premier League.

In attack, the Viola are linked with Patrick Cutrone from Wolverhampton, Torino’s Simone Zaza and SPAL forward Andrea Petagna, in what seems to become a hectic first month in charge for Iachini.
