Fiorentina have reportedly identified the man who targeted Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly with racial abuse and will ban him from the Artemio Franchi for life.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Fiorentina and Italian authorities have identified the man who insulted Koulibaly after Fiorentina-Napoli last weekend.

It’s a man between 25 and 30 years old.

Koulibaly took to social media after the game, writing that he had been called ‘f****** monkey’ and urging authorities and clubs to identify racist fans and ban them from stadiums forever.

That’s exactly what Fiorentina will do.

The Tuscans apologised to Koulibaly and Napoli after the game on Sunday and will now ban the man from the Artemio Franchi for life.

  1. The right step. But it’s a much bigger problem in the society. It still people in football that make excuses and think it’s part of football.
It’s good an example are made but it’s a long way for Italian society to go before we don’t have to hear this things be shouted at the stadiums.
