The Viola reportedly felt that the solution to such a crisis would come from within their ranks and as such, didn't buy another high-profile striker over the summer.

Specifically, focus falls on Khouma Babacar and Federico Bernardeschi, who are seen as among the most talented young forwards in Italy.

The duo has been dubbed the new ‘B2’, recalling memories of the great partnership between Roberto Baggio and Stefano Borgonovo.

Babacar has already featured against Roma and Genoa, while Italy U21 star Bernardeschi made his first appearance in the second half of the Genoa game after an impressive season on loan to Crotone in Serie B.
