Fiorentina have set their sights on Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, son of former Parma and Juventus defender Lilian.

The Viola are becoming something of a haven for the next generation of Serie A players, already counting on the sons of Enrico Chiesa and Andrea Sottil.

According to La Nazione newspaper, their next target is Marcus Thuram, who joined Borussia Monchengladbach from Guingamp last summer.

Unlike his defender father, this generation of Thuram is a striker who can play any of the three forward roles.

He has 12 goals and nine assists in 35 competitive games so far this season.

It’s reported agent Mino Raiola is ready to help negotiate a deal worth €15m, as the price-tag has dropped from €20m due to the knock-on effects of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

Curiously, Federico Chiesa’s father and Marcus Thuram’s Dad were teammates at Parma from 1996 to 99.
