The French midfielder, capped once by his national team, spent last term on loan with Napoli and Gattuso previously coached the 26-year-old during his time at Milan.
Bakayoko’s contract at Chelsea expires in June 2022 and Fiorentina have, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, contacted the Blues to understand if they are open for another loan.
Napoli don’t have an option to buy the player, who will return to London after the deal expires on June 30.
Bakayoko played 32 times in the League with the Partenopei, contributing two goals and one assist, and has collected 63 appearances in Serie A from his two seasons in Italy.
The defensive midfielder moved to Chelsea from Ligue 1 side Monaco in July 2017, but struggled to convince in the English capital and has since spent time on loan at Milan, Monaco and Napoli.
