Fiorentina’s Conference League semi-final with FC Basel was suspended for almost 10 minutes because a supporter had a suspected heart attack, but reports state he is in hospital and recovering well.

Cristiano Biraghi was about to take a corner when the supporters in the away end alerted him that someone was ill and needed help.

The local stewards and medical staff rushed over with a stretcher and La Repubblica report the fan had to be resuscitated after a suspected heart attack.

He was taken to a local hospital and initial reports confirmed by Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso suggest he is recovering well.

The match resumed after eight minutes and Antonin Barak snatched the decisive goal with moments to spare before the game was due to go to a penalty shoot-out.
