Fiorentina’s defeat in the Conference League Final to Olympiacos also means that Torino will not qualify for Europe in the 2024-25 season.

The Viola had hoped to lift silverware in Athens this evening, but eventually capitulated in extra time to Olympiacos with a 1-0 result decided by Ayoub El Kaabi at the 116th minute.

A victory here would’ve sent Fiorentina into the Europa League as winners, so their Conference League spot earned by finishing eighth in Serie A would drop down to Torino, who were ninth.

However, as they lost their second consecutive Conference League Final, Fiorentina enter this competition for the third year in a row.

Torino miss out on Europe altogether.

No UEFA competition for Torino

We now know there will be eight Serie A sides in Europe next season rather than nine.

Inter, Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Bologna enter the Champions League, with Roma and Lazio in the Europa League.

Fiorentina go into the Conference League and can try to reach a third straight Final.
