According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have set their sights on out of favour Real Madrid star Isco who sees his contract expire at the end of the season.

The Tuscans have secured the services of Krzysztof Piatek who is undergoing his medicals with La Viola ahead of an initial loan move with an option to buy from Herta Berlin.

Isco, 29, was regarded as one of the best Spanish players of his generation, but his career has gone downhill over the last couple of seasons.

The Spaniard has only played 195 minutes across all competitions this season and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he is not on good terms with coach Carlo Ancelotti.

His contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires at the end of the season and Fiorentina are considering his signing in January.

Isco’s salary demands could be an issue for the Serie A side, who will also face competition from other Italian and European clubs. According to the report, Inter are also monitoring the former Malaga man.
