Fiorentina ‘expect apology’ from Inter and President Zhang

Fiorentina’ expect an apology’ from Inter and their President Steven Zhang after that rumours last night suggested that Rocco Commisso tried to smash down the locker room door at the Stadio Franchi.

There was tension on and off the pitch in Florence, where Inter secured a late 4-3 win against the Tuscans.

Multiple reports in Italy claimed that there was an exchange of heated words between club directors Beppe Marotta and Joe Barone after the final whistle, adding that President Rocco Commisso tried to smash down the locker room door.

Fiorentina have officially denied the reports with a statement published on their official website last night, where they even mention Inter President Zhang.

“President Commisso simply complimented his players and the coach for the great performance,” the Tuscans said. Therefore, La Viola’s owner “expects an official apology from Inter, their president Steven Zhang and whoever has spread this fake news, restoring the truth as soon as possible.”

Fiorentina were left furious as Federico Dimarco didn’t see red despite a studs-up challenge that led to a penalty kick for the Tuscans in the first half.

They also complained because of a potential Edin Dzeko’s foul on Nikola Milenkovic in the action that led to Mkhitaryan’s late winner.

“I don’t even know what to say. It is yet another doubt over the refereeing decisions, as there was a foul moments before the winning goal,” Fiorentina boss Italiano told Sky Sport Italia last night.
