Fiorentina have confirmed that they can purchase in-form Sevilla loanee Luis Muriel for €14m this summer.
Muriel has scored four goals in his first four appearances for Fiorentina since arriving on loan from Sevilla, and sporting director Pantaleo Corvino expressed his delight with the Viola’s work in the January transfer window.
“With Muriel’s arrival we wanted to increase the quality of an already-strong attack on paper with Pjaca, Simeone and Chiesa,” Corvino told Sky Sport Italia.

“We were missing something, but Colombian is not making us regret signing him. If we signed Muriel on January 1, it means previous work went into getting him.
“Our option to buy? Sevilla paid €23m for him but we’ve obtained a favourable price, set at €14m. We want improve the team in every transfer window.
“With Rasmussen, Zurkowski and Traore, we’ve also thought about the future. Departures? Moving players on in the winter means moving on those who have less space in the team and want to play elsewhere.
“It’s not easy to find the best solution for everyone, but we did it by satisfying those who played little.
“Thereau? In recent years he’s been one of our leading lights but this season he’s had difficulties because there were better players in front of him.”
