Fiorentina director Daniele Pradè said a deal for Real Madrid forward Luka Jović is close but not yet completed.

The Serbia forward is expected to leave Real Madrid and several reports suggested he was on the verge of joining La Viola on a free transfer.

However, while Pradè confirmed talks were ongoing, he said no announcement ove Jović’s signing was imminent.

Speaking at a press conference, he told reporters: “Jović is a player we like but past experience in football tells me a deal needs to be completely sealed first.

“The same goes for Dodô.. we won’t close [the deals] in the next two days.”

Pradè also explained the situation which led to Fiorentina not making popular midfielder Lucas Torreira’s loan permanent.

The Viola director explained they made an offer which was rejected out of hand by Torreira’s agent and from there “something changed.”

“He could have become a Bandiera for us, but once we made our proposal, we faced closure from him and his agent. When you start like this, rapports change,” the former Roma director said.

He added that the club opted to put their faith in Sofyan Amrabat over the Uruguay international due to the Morocco midfielder’s performances in the last month-and-a-half of the campaign.

Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenković has been linked with a move away, primarily to Inter a potential replacement for Milan Škriniar.

And Pradè said they rejected “a big offer from a Premier League side” but would not stand in his way should the 24-year-old choose to move on.
