Lazio are on the verge of losing another player who had looked like a done deal, as Fiorentina intercept talks for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.

They seemed to have agreed terms weeks ago, but the days go by and a medical is no closer to happening.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia and more, Fenerbahce have raised their asking price from €18m to €20m.

Part of that is due to Fiorentina intervening with a bid of their own, creating a bidding war.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that this infuriated Lazio President Claudio Lotito so much that he personally called Fiorentina director Joe Barone to angrily demand they step aside.

It’s becoming a recurring theme for Lazio, as they already saw David Silva go for Real Sociedad instead, while they continue to haggle with SPAL for Mohamed Fares and risk losing him to Inter.
