Fiorentina could lose revenues of up to €30m during the two years they will have to temporarily play away from the Stadio Artemio Franchi due to attendances likely being diminished over that period.

La Viola will have to vacate their home stadium for two years beginning in 2024 and returning in 2026 whilst the ground undergoes major renovation work.

The much-needed improvements and modernization of the Stadio Franchi will be financed by the PNRR fund, at a cost of around €200m.

Calcio e Finanza reports that Fiorentina will lose millions in revenue over the course of the two years due to the expected drop in ticket, hospitality, food and beverage sales as well as in the form of TV rights money.

Lega Serie A distributes a 12% share of the cash from TV broadcast deals based on average attendances in the ground over a three year period.

It is expected that Fiorentina will have to temporarily share a stadium with another club in the surrounding area, however, it is unlikely that any of the available options will be able to host the entirety of the Viola supporter base, given that they currently average over 32,000 fans per game this season.

Calcio e Finanza anticipates that Fiorentina’s average home attendance during their upcoming nomadic spell will drop to around 10,000 fans per game, which would put them in the bottom three clubs in Serie A by that metric.

Fiorentina could therefore lose somewhere in the region of €12m-€15m per season in revenue, or up to €30m over a two year period, assuming that there will not be any delays to the date of completion during that time.
