Nico Gonzalez has never quite delivered on his promise at Fiorentina and Sky Sport Italia claim they are ready to sell him to Leicester City for £30m.

The 24-year-old can play in a variety of attacking roles, primarily on the left wing, but also on the right or as a centre-forward.

He was originally named in Argentina’s squad for the 2022 World Cup, but pulled out during the training camp in Qatar through injury.

Gonzalez was signed from VfB Stuttgart for €24.5m in the summer of 2021 and had a good first season at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, finding the net eight times with nine assists in 39 matches between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

So far this term, he has been dealing with injuries and managed five goals in 11 competitive games.

It had been suggested that the Viola were prepared to sell him for the right price and now Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims they are giving some serious thought to the £30m (circa €34m) proposal from Leicester City.

Fiorentina already have Luka Jovic and Arthur Cabral, so are looking for different options in attack.
