Fiorentina announce their President Rocco Commisso has returned to the USA ‘to monitor his medical condition’ as he had arrived in Italy with pneumonia.
Commisso, 72, had spent a few weeks in Italy but has now been forced to return to the United States, the club announced.
“ACF Fiorentina can confirm that President Rocco Commisso, having arrived in Italy with pneumonia, has flown back to the States today, in agreement with the club’s medical staff and his own medical staff in the USA,” a club statement read.
“Due to the inclement weather in Italy and the need to monitor his medical condition, it was decided that this is the best course of action.
“The Viola Family wish the President a safe return home.”
