Vincenzo Italiano is delighted with a ‘much-needed’ Fiorentina victory against Braga and praises Luka Jovic: ‘Goals do miracles.’
The Tuscans secured a comfortable 4-0 win in Portugal in the first leg of the Conference League play-offs.
Former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic stole the show with a brace and the same is true of Brazilian forward Arthur Cabral who replaced the Serbia international in the second half.
“It’s always nice when strikers score, we need them at this moment and tonight they dragged us with their goals,” Italiano told Sky Sport Italia.
“Goals can do miracles, it’s what we’ve been missing so far. Now we need consistency. This win is dedicated to the President who followed us. We wanted to make him happy and we did it. It’s an important victory, especially considering how we earned it. We needed it.”
Fiorentina haven’t won any of their last five Serie A matches so today’s win in Portugal is a breath of fresh air for Italiano and his lads.
“All the players have understood that we need to give something more. We knew it was an important game and we approached it the right way.
“Now we must do the same in Serie A, where we are a bit behind. I hope this victory will boost the team for the next game with Empoli.”
