Fiorentina are reportedly close to signing Lille winger Jonathan Ikoné for €15m.
The Tuscans are on the lookout for a new right winger and made Sassuolo‘s Domenico Berardi their priority.
However, the Neroverdi’s €40m asking price convinced Fiorentina to look elsewhere and according to Sky Sport Italia, they are now close to securing a deal to sign Ikoné.
Talks between Fiorentina and Lille are reportedly at an advanced stage, although the deal is not done yet.
RB Leipzig are also interested in the France international, but Fiorentina are reportedly in pole position.
A product of PSG academy, Ikoné joined Lille in a €5m deal in 2018 and has scored 16 goals in 144 appearances with the Ligue 1 champions.
Some of his former teammates, such as Mike Maignan and Victor Osimhen, moved to Serie A from Lille to join Milan and Napoli over the last few years.
Ikoné’s contract with Lille expires in June 2023.

What a coup for Fiorentina! Now if they can hold onto Vlahovic, that from three of Nico Gonzalez, Vlahovic and Ikone could cause serious damage against any team.
I hope his teammate Sanches ends up in Milan.
A step in the right direction but Ikoné is no Berardi. Rocco needs to start spending top dollar. If Vlahovic leaves in January as opposed to the summer, mid /lower table beckons.
