Fiorentina are reportedly close to agreeing terms for a new contract with goalkeeper Neto, apparently in compromising on a new salary.

The Brazilian has been in continued negotiations with the Viola over a new deal, with his current one due to expire at the end of this season.

Delays in reaching an agreement have reportedly been over changed salary demands from the 25-year-old and have prompted speculative links to the likes of Juventus.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that an agreement with Fiorentina may be close to being finalised.

The publication believes that the club have come up with a compromise to make up the difference between their proposed wage offer and Neto’s apparent requested one through bonus payments and clauses.

The Gazzetta are running the line that a five-year contract paying a basic salary of €2m is close to being ratified and that it may be signed as early as the November international break.

Neto’s current salary is believed to come in at €650,000-per-season.
