As expected, Fiorentina have exercised their counter-option to bring Riccardo Sottil back from his Cagliari loan.
The winger had made the loan move last summer with an option to buy for €10m at the end of the season.
The Sardinians did activate that clause and owned the player for two days.
However, today Fiorentina decided to pay the €12.2m counter-option to bring the 22-year-old back to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
That means Cagliari make a profit of €2.2m from the move.
Sottil played just 24 games for Cagliari this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
He missed most of the campaign due to a serious thigh injury sustained in February.
