The 31-year-old signed with the Viola in September and arrived on a free transfer after his contract with Milan expired.

Bonaventura signed a deal until June 2022 and has played 13 games in Serie A, starting nine times, but new coach Cesare Prandelli could decide to part ways with the former Atalanta man this winter.
