Pol Lirola finally seems to be on the verge of his transfer from Fiorentina to Olympique Marseille for €12m.

The wing-back spent last season on loan in Marseille and originally the Ligue 1 club had opted not to pay the €12m option to buy.

However, it became very quickly clear that both the player and Marseille wanted to make it a permanent agreement.

They have been negotiating with the Viola for weeks to find the right formula and cost of the operation.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the two clubs have finally reached an agreement to spread the payment of the €12m out over several instalments, covering quite a few seasons.

Spanish right-back Lirola turns 24 next month and had already agreed personal terms with Olympique Marseille.

Fiorentina had purchased him from Sassuolo in 2020 for a total of €13m plus bonuses, while he came through the youth academies of both Espanyol and Juventus.
