Fiorentina and Everton are running out of time to pay Boulaye Dia’s release clause which expires at midnight.

According to Wednesday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport (page 18), Everton and Fiorentina are interested in the 26-year-old.

Both sides still have a few hours left to secure the services of the Salernitana striker by paying his €25m release clause, which expires at midnight on Thursday.

West Ham and Burnley are also said to have scouted the Senegal international who scored 16 goals in 33 appearances with the Granata in 2022-23.

Salernitana are confident of keeping Dia at the club for one more season but have reportedly targeted Everton striker Neal Maupay to replace him potentially.

Dia moved to the Stadio Arechi on loan with an option to buy from Villarreal last summer and Salernitana made his move permanent for €12m at the end of the season.

He made his senior Senegal debut in October 2020, scoring his first goal with his national team in September 2021.
