Teenager Jordan James has continued impressing with Birmingham City this season, attracting the attention of Fiorentina and Atalanta.
The Welsh midfielder broke into the Blues first team back in the 2021-22 season and has featured regularly since then, clocking up 87 first team appearances for the Championship side. This term, he’s scored six goals in 1192 minutes of action across 25 league games.
James has entered the last 18 months of his contract with Birmingham, making him an interesting option for clubs in this January transfer window. He currently commands a market value of around €11-12m, being a tactically flexible midfielder with heaps of potential.
As reported by HITC Football and TMW, Fiorentina and Atalanta are both interested in making a move for James, who has also attracted attention from Newcastle United, Brentford, Brighton and West Brom.
In recent days, he reportedly agreed to the terms of a four-year contract with Atalanta, which contained a salary of €750,000 net plus an option for an additional season. The Bergamo outfit still haven’t decided whether or not to truly enter the race for his signature in the coming weeks.
