Fiorentina have reportedly agreed personal terms with defender Nicolas Valentini, who had also been targeted by Roma, and will try to get an early deal from Boca Juniors.

The 23-year-old is a product of the Boca Juniors youth academy and his contract only runs to December 31, 2024.

With that in mind, he should be available for a minimal fee if released in the summer rather than waiting until he becomes a free agent in January.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have managed to agree personal terms with Valentini and are confident they can get him early.

Valentini sought after in Serie A

Quite a few Serie A clubs have been linked with the Argentine, above all Roma, but also Como, Cagliari and Lazio.

He has eight caps for Argentina at Under-23 level and has already been called up to the senior squad.

As the name would suggest, Valentini has Italian heritage and can therefore be registered as an EU player.
