Fiorentina seem to have convinced Real Madrid to let Luka Jovic join them on a dry loan, paying half his salary.

It has been known for some time that the striker was heading to the Stadio Artemio Franchi, but the clubs were discussing the details of the move.

The fact Real Madrid would pay 50 per cent of his €6m per season salary was always on the cards.

The main issue being debated was Real Madrid wanted Fiorentina to take on an obligation to buy at the end of the season, or at least an option to buy.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the discussions finally reached a conclusion this evening with the Merengues accepting that this will be a dry loan.

That means Fiorentina do not have an option to make the move permanent and will just have the Serbia international for the 2022-23 campaign.

Jovic is expected to fly in to Florence next week for his medical and to sign the contract.

The 24-year-old was purchased for €63m from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019, but struggled to make an impact in Spain, with only 19 competitive appearances this season.

  1. I think this is a brilliant piece of business for Fiorentina. Sure, Jovic is out of sorts atm, but he has potential and quality. At the cost of 3M/season, it is a justified move. Best of luck.
