Fiorentina and Napoli shared the spoils and Lorenzo Bettoni at the Artemio Franchi details what you may have missed watching the game on TV.

Commisso reveals line-up choice

Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has been in town for a few weeks and was in the stands tonight. He was welcomed by tens of Fiorentina fans at the Artemio Franchi, taking pictures with a few of them before kick-off. The club owner revealed that new signing Barak would have started the game and the ex-Hellas Verona star eventually played the whole game against the Partenopei.

Spalletti rages

The Fiorentina fixture in Florence is always a special man for the Certaldo-born tactician. Spalletti looked irritable at the start of the game and often complained to the fourth official. He calmed down after receiving a yellow card early in the first half, but his anger erupted at the end of the match. The first row of the main stand is very close to the dugouts at the Artemio Franchi and after the final whistle, Spalletti almost went face to face with a group of Fiorentina fans who had presumably insulted him throughout the game.

Incredible atmosphere

Fiorentina and Napoli fans are among the loudest in Italy and put on a show at the Artemio Franchi tonight. The atmosphere was terrific, the away sector was sold out and fans travelling from the south never stopped chanting and supporting their lads. Fiorentina fans were just as impressive, sometimes there were insulting chants coming from both curvas, but this is something to which Italian football is sadly accustomed. However, there were no clashes between the two groups of ultras inside or outside the stadium before and during the game and the support in the stands was as intense as the game. As we write, there are still more than 100 Fiorentina fans chanting in the Curva Fiesole. The game ended almost 20 minutes ago.
