Catania’s players were burgled during their match against Reggina on Wednesday – but their captain’s smartphone was retrieved via the ‘Find My iPhone’ app.

According to ItaSportPress, Catania’s players returned from their 1-1 Lega Pro draw at Reggina to see their personal belongings taken, among them mobile phones and wallets.

It appears the criminals forced open a small window to enter the dressing room, ransacked its contents and ran away with the loot, despite police and steward presence.

The worst-hit player was captain Marco Biagianti [pictured], whose wedding ring and watch was also taken, aside from his phone and wallet.

However, Biagianti’s handset was later found by ‘Find My iPhone’, with his wedding ring then showing up, although it is not known if the app tracked down the perpetrators.
