Antonio and Emanuele Filippini were the twins who lit up Serie A in the 1990s and now they face off as Coaches in Serie D.

The pair played together at Brescia, coming up through the youth academy of their hometown club, until Emanuele moved to Parma.

Their first ever clash was on November 6, 2002, when Emanuele’s Parma won 4-3.

Tomorrow they’ll meet for the first time as opponents on the touchline too in Serie D, Girone B.

While Antonio Filippini’s Trento are trying to secure their survival, Emanuele and Rezzato have the opportunity to pursue their dreams of promotion.

“We take it seriously, as we always do,” they both insisted in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Football is our life and we dive head into it, ready to accept the verdict on the field. A defeat can happen, but you must’ve given it your all.”

Their father Beppe will be in the stands tomorrow, but their mother is staying away so as to not favour one or the other.

“We have such a strong bond that we’d love one day to be the first pair of Coaching twins in Serie A, dividing up defensive and attacking tasks.”
