Eintracht Frankfurt have permanently signed Jens Petter Hauge from Milan after his conditional obligation to buy clause was triggered.

The 22-year-old Norwegian winger joined the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan deal last summer and he’s had a decent campaign with Frankfurt, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 22 league appearances. His season was a little disrupted by muscle injury but now things are looking good again.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Eintracht Frankfurt paid Milan €2m for the loan and the obligation to buy clause has been set at €8m plus €2m in easily achievable add-ons, as well as another €3m valid for next season.

The Rossoneri have also secured a 15% future resale clause on Hauge, who is now bound to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2025, with an option for another season. This was another good piece of business by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara as they only paid €4.8m for him back in October 2020.

6 thought on “Figures behind Milan’s sale of Hauge to Eintracht Frankfurt”
  1. Me too I never understood why Pioli never rated him highly but kept on playing Krunic every chances. Did Hauge slept with Pioli’s wife or something

  2. He’s technically-gifted, but a bit inexeperienced tactically. At times he held on the ball too long and hence slowed down the attacking pace. More dangerously, once in a while he lost the ball easily while dribbling and led to the opponent’s counter attack.

  3. We let him go because he was a left winger and we had Leao and Rebic in form at that time. There was no room for him.

  4. He has potential but nowhere as decisive or ready as Leao or Rebic. His numbers this season shows that Maldini made the right choice. That’s a very healthy profit, a great piece of business. Milan have too many holes in the squad, we can’t have a 15m rated player as third choice for left wing when we have none for the other side.

  5. We should have kept him & shown patience with him. I would have started by trying to get him to play on the right side. Messias & Saelmakers are not immediately better options at first glance.
