The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has unveiled its new logo, including the four stars to show the World Cup trophies won by the Azzurri.
The logo was presented today and designed by Italia Independent, a creative agency whose President is Lapo Elkann, cousin of Juventus President Andrea Agnelli.
The redesign was requested by FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina, who wanted this to reflect the ‘innovation process’ that Italian football has begun.
Following in the footsteps of nations like Belgium, Germany and Spain, this allows the Federation to have a different logo to that of the National team, separating them in people’s minds.
“As an Italian, there is nothing that could make me prouder than to design the logo of the FIGC,” said Elkann.
The logo is nonetheless blue in its background, reflecting the Azzurri jersey, with the colours of the tricolore flag above and below the FIGC lettering.
The four stars represent the four World Cup trophies won by Italy.
It has been a very successful summer for the Nazionale, who won their second European Championship, taking the UEFA EURO 2020 trophy after the 1968 edition.

Looks ok but if it ain’t broke…unnecessary IMHO. Playback similar to the 1984 circular design that was used in WC 1990 and ended in 1991.
In this design no way should FIGC be so large. Italia larger than FIGC and stars in gold might have looked better.
The bank acc of Italia Independent Group would be smiling though.
Come on @Nick, the bigger picture is that now they bring back the “Ciao” caricature from the 1990 World Cup, only this time the head has this new logo. Seriously though, who designed this unholy @$$ ugly mess?!? I rather like the current shield design, it’s elegant and modern without being pretentious. This “innovation” nonsense is trying make retro look good, and it doesn’t work.
How is it possible that “FIGC” is so much more prominent than “ITALIA”?????? It’s ridiculous!!
I wear the Italia jersey with pride, not the “FIGC” jersey!! Looks like some egos want to put their stamp on things where it was unnecessary.

Seems like y’all didn’t read the whole article…. It pretty clearly states the FIGC logo will be different from that of la nazionale. This logo won’t appear on the national team kit.
How can it has ITALIA word under FIGC? FIGC itself has Italia in short. Moreover, it has tricolore.
