The FIGC Presidential Committee has announced the establishment of a 'Salva Calcio Fund' of €21.7m, allocated to help save the lower leagues.
In a statement, the Federcalcio has revealed their plan to help the resumption of activities in the lower leagues.
“Parallel to the return to the pitch in the professional leagues, phase three of Italian football officially begins today with the establishment of the Salva Calcio Fund by the FIGC Presidential Committee,” it reads.

“Parallel to the return to the pitch in the professional leagues, phase three of Italian football officially begins today with the establishment of the Salva Calcio Fund by the FIGC Presidential Committee,” it reads.
“On the proposal of President Gabriele Gravina, in fact, the administrative body of the Federcalcio launches an extraordinary, articulated and particularly substantial project.
“The final approval will be brought to the Federal Council on Monday June 8.”
The Italian Football Association has stated that their ‘financial strength and availability has allowed a direct intervention in favour of the clubs and players, in Serie B, Serie C, the amateur leagues and women’s football’ and will help them face ‘the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The total sum of contributions will amount to €21.7m’.
How the FIGC has allocated the resources available:
Up to €5m for the support of Serie B clubs
Up to €5m for the support of Lega Pro clubs
Up to €5m for the support of LND clubs
Up to €3m to players and up to €3m to coaching staff "through a single contribution to the Solidarity Fund for players and coaching staff’.
€700,000 for the Women’s Football League for support to clubs, aimed at the recovery and completion of activities in 2019-20.
