The FIGC has lodged a counter-appeal to block Juventus gaining access to the so-called ‘secret document’ their prosecutor sent to the COVISOC in April 2021, as the legal battle over the 15-point penalty continues.

Earlier this week, former Juve directors Federico Cherubini and Fabio Paratici won their appeal to the Lazio TAR tribunal that would allow them to see the document.

The FIGC therefore was given seven days to hand over the paperwork.

However, the Federation has now lodged a counter-appeal to block that TAR sentence, insisting Cherubini and Paratici cannot apply to that tribunal until all the sporting justice levels have been exhausted.

They have repeatedly denied access to the ‘Note 10940’ by arguing that it was not part of the investigation that led to the 15-point Serie A penalty.

Juventus lawyers hope the existence of the document will prove that the COVISOC asked the FIGC for clarification into the club’s finances when it came to the cost of players exchanged in capital gains deals.

If it does, then the proceeding into their accounts was opened on April 21, 2021 and therefore the current trial came beyond the date limit and all documents acquired after July 14, 2021 would not be usable against Juventus.

Meanwhile, Juventus have also lodged a different appeal against the 15-point penalty, hoping the entire trial will be considered inadmissible.
