If the number of COVID cases in the country remains under control over the next few months, a maximum of 1,000 fans could be allowed in stadiums in spring, while a maximum of 30% stadium capacity could be set for EURO 2020 in the summer.
Four games of the tournament will be played at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico where Italy will face Turkey, Switzerland and Wales in the group stage.
A quarter final will be played at the same venue on July 3.
