The Italian FA have confirmed the date of the official unveiling of new CT Luciano Spalletti, as well as sharing details of the former Napoli coach’s first squad announcement. 

In a press release issued on Wednesday afternoon, the Azzurri confirmed that Spaletti will sit down in front of the media for the first time at Coverciano on September 2. He will be accompanied by FIGC President Gabriele Gravina. 

Spaletti’s first squad will be announced to the public one day earlier on September 1 as the Azzurri prepare for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine on September 9 and September 12 respectively. 

Spaletti recently signed a three-year deal to lead the Nazionale following the shock resignation of former boss Roberto Mancini earlier in August.  

Spalletti’s contract runs us up to the summer of 2026, the date of the next World Cup, which will take place across North America. It is believed that the 64-year-old will earn an annual salary of €3m during that time.
