The 20 Serie A candidates for FIFA 23’s Team Of The Year have been released and include six Milan players, five from Juventus and three from Inter.

“The voting for TOTY will begin on January 10. The complete Final XI and Honorable Mention players are predicted to be revealed from January 16 onward,” a statement from EA Sports reads.

Serie A has 20 candidates with Milan being the team with the most nominees. The Rossoneri won their first Scudetto in 11 years last season and have Mike Maignan, Olivier Giroud, Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao, Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali among the contenders.

Juventus have five: Filip Kostic, who joined the club last summer after winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, Gleison Bremer, Adrien Rabiot, Wojciech Szczęsny and Dusan Vlahovic.

The three Inter candidates are Nicolò Barella, Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez.

Last year, no Serie A players were included in the team of the year although users picked Italy internationals Jorginho and Gianluigi Donnarumma after the Azzurri won the Euros.

Vincenzo Grifo is the only Italy international playing outside Serie A among FIFA 23’s nominees.
