Feyenoord fans have been photographed in Italy ahead of the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Roma on Thursday despite being banned from attending the game at the Stadio Olimpico.

On April 1, it was confirmed by the local authorities in Rome that the away end of the Olimpico would be shut and no tickets would be sold to any resident of the Netherlands in response to fan trouble from a previous Europa League fixture between the sides in 2015.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, some hotels in Rome have reported reservations from “dozens” of Dutch customers, suspected to be Feyenoord supporters, in the days leading up to the game.

There have also been reports of a surge in bookings on trains and flights into Italy from Rotterdam over the course of this week.

Now, it appears that groups of Feyenoord supporters have already arrived in Italy, in Naples to be precise, having accepted an invitation to visit from the Napoli ultras.

Photos and videos of the dutch supporters in Campania have been widely circulated online.

Members of the most vocal areas of the Feyenoord and Napoli supporter bases are said to have a good relationship and local authorities are reported to be concerned about the Dutch ultras’ presence in Italy.
