Ferrieri Caputi to lead first all-female officiating team in Coppa Italia

New ground is being broken in the Coppa Italia as Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi prepares to lead the first all-female officiating team in the clash between Napoli and Cremonese.

The 32-year-old Italian referee continues to exceed expectations as she flies up the divisions in Italian football, first starting out in Serie D in 2015. After an important five years in the fourth tier, she was promoted to Serie C, where she spent two seasons before moving up to Serie B and then Serie A this season.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Ferrieri Caputi will be joined by colleagues Tiziana Trasciatti and Francesca Di Monte for the Coppa Italia clash between Napoli and Cremonese, forming the first ever all-female officiating team in the competition.

They previously worked together in the Serie B clash between Frosinone and Ternana on December 26th 2022. Should things go well in the Coppa Italia clash, it only seems like a matter of time before they break new ground in Serie A as well.
