“I tell all these people that when Rudi Garcia came to Roma from France, he’d never even watched Italian football, yet he finished second in his debut season.

“So we gave an Italian team to an Italian Coach who had to go abroad in order to win medals and trophies. Now he will win them with us.”

The 55-year-old tactician certainly has an interesting CV, working for the likes of Steaua Bucharest, Red Star Belgrade, Gaziantepspor, Dinamo Bucharest, Al-Nasr and Al-Jazira.

His brief Italian experiences were at Catania from 2008-09 and Palermo for 14 games.

Meanwhile, President Ferrero also commented on reports Eder has received offers from Inter and Dubai.

“I am keeping him, but then again sometimes young men follow their hearts and their wallets.”
