Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero wants ‘a new striker and a midfielder’ to be satisfied with the squad at the Marassi.
The Blucerchiati allowed Karol Linetty move to Torino this summer but Ferrero is looking to replace the midfielder and admitted he hopes to add a centre-forward too.
“A striker and a midfielder, then the backbone of the squad is already there,” Ferrero told Il Secolo XIX.

“A striker and a midfielder, then the backbone of the squad is already there,” Ferrero told Il Secolo XIX.
“It’s true that I sold Linetty to Torino for €9.5m, thanks to easily reachable bonuses, but look around you. From Juve to Roma to Inter, there are no big clubs who are buying.
“European football is at a standstill. This COVID is taking away the security and football is affected too.
“We will do something, like we always do, but it requires patience and an overview.”
