There have been reports for weeks that a foreign fund, expected to be American, is in negotiations to purchase the Serie A side with Samp legend Gianluca Vialli to take over as President.

During Coach Marco Giampaolo’s Press conference this afternoon, Ferrero burst in to have his say.

“I want to say that I have great admiration for your work, but please stop getting on my nerves with this story. I am not selling the club and it’s not possible that this story comes out every damn day.

“Why don’t you ever say, for instance, that I have taken over the stadium? My only approach is to get things done and I realise my method of communication might be unorthodox, but I want to do something for Sampdoria.

“Why don’t you say the good things I’ve done for this club? Instead you just criticise and every morning write Ferrero is selling the club, but never tell me who the buyer is supposed to be.

“Trust me, if I do ever sell Sampdoria, I’ll make sure you are the first to know. The fans protest against me, but I love them. We will get the job done, I am not sitting here hoping someone will bring me a load of cash.

“Nobody gifted me Sampdoria. I took on all the debts and 99 players who were, let’s say, not very practical.”
