Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero confirms his club want Roma striker Gregoire Defrel, while Inter ‘continue to offer us Eder for Dennis Praet’.
Ferrero gave an update on Samp’s business in the transfer market to Il Secolo XIX, from who will replace Emiliano Viviano and Lucas Torreira to reinforcements in attack.
“We still have to sign a goalkeeper, and from what I’ve been told, the deal for Jandrei can go through, but things often change in the market,” he told the newspaper.

“If it’s not him it’ll be someone else, but the important thing is that we’ll be protected between the posts. If Zapata leaves? We’ll sign a top player, that’s for sure.
“We’re assessing various profiles for the left-hand side, at least three, as there are for Torreira’s replacement.
“We’re looking at a Spaniard, Belgian, Croat and an Italian. They must be tough and let us take a step forward.
“It won’t necessarily be a young player because in some roles, even an expert with so much class can be important.
“We’ll see. It’s a delicate choice, which we’re all working towards. Right now we like Defrel from Roma.
“We liked him last year, so we’ll see if an agreement can be found with the Giallorossi.
“If not, Inter continue to offer us Eder for Praet, but I’m against this reheated soup…
“As for Praet, unless they pay the clause, I’ll try to keep him because a midfield with a strong regista, Praet on one side and Jankto on the other, plus Linetty and the others we have, is better than mid-table.
“I’m glad others have raised the bar. I’m still a tad bitter about last season, so I’d like to take away some satisfaction this time out.”
