Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero has insisted that ‘no-one has offered us a Euro’ to buy the club.

American investors were reported to be in talks to take over Samp last month, but there have been no developments since then and Ferrero now looks to have closed the door.

“The funds that are supposed to be rolling in it, there isn’t a Euro,” he told Il Secolo XI.

“Now they say the negotiations aren’t in London but rather New York. Too bad we’ve always been here in Rome and no-one’s offered us a Euro.

“I’ll never leave these fans. Giampaolo? I love him. If it was up to me, he’d be my Coach for life.”
