“However, those who shout for us to get back out there is just pedalling demagoguery. The important thing is that we defeat this coronavirus, that is what really matters.”

The Sampdoria President believes Serie A should not resume without fans, while he is unimpressed by the idea of social distancing during initial training sessions.

“How does that work, with players running four metres apart and a coach shouting through a megaphone from a balcony? It’s madness!”
