Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero pledged to reinforce his squad, denied Mattia Destro talks and is “fed up” of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s doubts.

The fiery patron sat down with Sky Sport Italia and naturally the first question was about Coach Mihajlovic, who has hinted at a summer exit towards Napoli or Milan.

“Will Mihajlovic stay? Do I have to answer that? I think nobody has understood what’s going on, because I certainly haven’t.

“I never ruled it out and I never admitted it either. I’m fed up, enough talk of Mihajlovic. If he wants to go, then he should go.”

There were reports this week that Ferrero was in negotiations with Roma for Destro, who is unlikely to extend his loan stay at Milan.

“I wasn’t there. It might’ve been a lookalike. I was eating with my friend Garrone.

“Your transfer experts say lovely things, but they don’t know and go mad trying to figure out who I’ve seen and will buy in July. I have three incoming who will really hurt the opposition…

“Will Emiliano Viviano remain? If I say yes, then (Palermo President Maurizio) Zamparini will raise the price-tag. We’ll see at the end of the season.

“Do we want him to stay? He wants it.”

Ferrero only took over at Sampdoria last year, but has become a fan favourite thanks to his over the top antics.

“I never talk about referees. I shout at the top of my lungs, but only for a goal. Sometimes referees get it wrong, but that happens to anyone at work.”
