The Italian international is not wanted by his club, and today skipped a meeting with the Blucerchiati President.

"He's someone who wants to go to war, but war is never good. I called him today, but he didn't accept my invitation.
“I’ve always called him, he’s the one being obstinate. I’m sorry that a player of his talent prefers not to play, training at Bogliasco alone and using his history for sympathy.
“I’ve tried reasoning with him, he wants all the money [on his contract]. When he fought with [Antonio] Romei, I took that letter and I tore it up, saying ‘don’t go out like this’.
“Long life to Cassano, everyone chooses his own path. If he wants the money I’ll give him it, because I’ve made a mistake.
"I just regret that I accepted some things, because I treated him like a son. I trusted him, but I was betrayed."
