Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero said Antonio Cassano is “51 per cent” likely to arrive, Eder is worth €15m and Samuel Eto’o wants money.

The notoriously outlandish patron spoke to Sky Sport Italia on the upcoming campaign under new Coach Walter Zenga.

“Can Cassano return to Samp? We’ll see. As of today it’s 51 per cent yes. Remakes rarely work, but we’ll see,” smiled the movie producer.

“If he was eight out of 10 at Samp before, then this time he’ll have to give 10 out of 10 in all areas. If Zenga decides, then we’ll talk about it.

“I care for Cassano, but he knows that he can’t be naughty with me. So don’t talk much and play well. I had already spoken to him in January when he was at Parma, but Sinisa Mihajlovic and the locker room weren’t very enthusiastic about the idea.”

Ferrero point-blank ruled out Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini also making a comeback to Sampdoria.

“Eder will stay unless they give me at least €15m. I received an offer from Qatar worth €9.5m, but they could’ve done more.”

Eto’o arrived in January from Everton, but scored just two goals in 18 Serie A appearances and famously clashed with Mihajlovic.

“I think this little bird is destined to fly towards other shores,” said Ferrero.

“As far as I’m concerned, he could stay for life, as I wanted and chose him. He’s a great champion, but if he wants to go then he knows that he can follow his heart… and his wallet.”
