Il Secolo XIX claims an envelope containing a bullet and a threatening letter aimed at Massimo Ferrero and Edoardo Garrone was sent to Sampdoria‘s headquarters today.

Tension is rising around the Blucerchati, who have been in talks to sell the club without finding a suitable buyer.

Italian Political Police DIGOS seized an envelope containing a bullet and a threatening letter aimed at Ferrero and Garrone this morning and is carrying out an investigation.

Former President Ferrero stepped down in December 2021 after being arrested for allegations unrelated to the club’s management. He still holds a majority stake in the club and according to Gazzetta, he is against Samp’s sale if it doesn’t come with a financial gain for him.

His predecessor Garrone has been blamed by most Sampdoria fans for selling the club to the Roman businessman back in 2014.

This season, the situation got out of control with the team struggling in Serie A’s relegation zone and a net debt of over €150m.

Most Sampdoria fans hope the club, now chaired by ex-defender Marco Lanna, will be sold soon, bringing much-needed stability.
