Lewis Ferguson has continued shining with Bologna and now Napoli have decided to enter the race for the Scot’s signature alongside Juventus, Milan and Inter.

The 24-year-old has been one of the key driving forces behind the Rossoblu’s success this term, standing out under the tutelage of emerging tactician Thiago Motta. In their high-flying run to fourth, Ferguson has scored six goals and provided four assists in 28 Serie A games this campaign.

Ferguson has already started to become one of the hottest topics ahead of the summer transfer window, with Juventus, Inter and Milan all setting their sights on the 24-year-old, who has also attracted attention from abroad.

Page 14 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Napoli have now decided to enter the race for Ferguson, needing a long-term replacement for the Inter bound Piotr Zielinski. The Scottish midfielder has a price tag of around €25m, an accessible fee for the Partenopei.

Much depends on Napoli’s ability to qualify for the Champions League, however; Aurelio De Laurentiis is acutely focused on the club’s financial health and isn’t expected to invest heavily should the club miss out on Europe’s premier club competition.
